Where Flowers Bloom

Hi all... hope you are all well and enjoying the Olympics.
First of all I would like to thank my new followers for getting me past the 100 mark!

I haven't been creating for over a week.  We have been having a few things done around the house, so I've been keeping out of the way.

So...just a quickie from me today.  I have created a card using the Flourishes 'Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2' set of stamps, some Spellbinders, a Sizzix embossing folder, distress inks, some bling and just a little glamour dust....and I coloured my flowers with Pro Markers.
Thought I should just add, that I used the whole of the embossing folder for the front of my card.  I fussy cut around it, and then adhered it to a folded card, cut to size.

Here are the ingredients...
Flourishes - Botanical Bookplates Vol. 2
Spellbinders - Fancy Framed Tags 2 - Labels Twenty Two
Pro Markers - Grass, Leaf Green, Pastel Blue and Tea Green
Sizzix - Embossing Folder Hearts & Vine
Distress Ink - Salty Ocean

"Tag! You're It!"

Hi all, from yet another rather dull and cloudy day here in West Yorkshire.  We have been told that there's some sunshine on the way...watch this space!
Today I have a tag for the JustRite Friday Challenge..."Tag! You're It!"
I recently won a beautiful stamp set, (Seeds of Summer),  from the lovely people at JustRite, and I wanted to make something using some of those stamps, and say "Thank You!".
Here is my tag...
From the beautiful 'Seeds of Summer' set, I used the petunias, label and heartfelt thanks stamps. I attached my petunias onto the largest Spellbinders Circles die, which was first sponged with broken china distress ink. I coloured my petunias with PM's, then fussy cut them out and sprayed them with a clear laquer. I added some narrow organza ribbon and bows to my circle. I mounted this onto the largest Splendid Circles die. Finally, I embossed some white card with a sizzix embossing folder, rounded the top and bottom corners, then fixed my cicle and tag onto it.

My Crafty Passions

Good morning/afternoon.
Today I have a card for the challenge at Stampalot which is " Crafty Passions". They would like to see pieces of work with the things you enjoy doing the most.  Quite a lot on my list...stamping, colouring, using dies, making pretty bows and flowers.
Here is my card...
I used the lovely 'Vintage Rose Medallions' stamp set by Justrite Stampers, then coloured with PM's. My DP is from the Boho Chic 6"x6" paper pad. I added a border cut with Spellbinders Edgeabilities, then added two rows of sequins. I made a seam binding fussy bow, and a flower to match the ones in my image. I added  gold stamen to the flower centre, then dotted some gold rub'n'buff  to my stamped flower centres.

Paper - First Edition 'Boho Chic'
Stamps - JustRite - 'Vintage Rose Medallions'

Confucius Says... Go With All Your Heart

Hi all, hope you are all well. Thank you for stopping by.

Today I have a card for the Flourishes 'Timeless Tuesday Challenge'. Denise is the host this week and she has asked us to be sentimental and create a card with a sentiment.  That wasn't hard for me, as I love quotes and sentiments on the fronts of my cards.  I chose the beautiful words of Confucius. I love this sentiment, which is from the Flourishes - 'Cherry Blossoms' set of stamps...
I have embossed my base card with Spellbinders M-Bossabilities then added the Spellbinders die from the Lattice Motifs set. I laid that over a piece of blue card stock. I stamped my sentiment onto an oval Spellbinder die and popped it up with some silicone glue.  To finish I added some blue organza ribbon, a hand crafted flower with pearl centre, and two Marianne leaf flourishes.
I've been really busy this week. I've been making commission cards for kids to give to their teachers, plus three family birthday cards. Hopefully by next week things will have calmed down a bit.

Ingredients ...
Flourishes -  Sentiment from Cherry Blossoms set.
Spellbinders - Lattice Motif and Oval dies
                      M-Bossabilities - Elegance
Marianne Dies - Open Flower Classic
25mm Blue Organza Ribbon from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
White and blue card stock throughout.

Enjoy a lovely weekend!

I used a circle punch to create my sun, then sponged over it. My papers are from Boho Chic. I also matted with some iridescent vellum. The border die is Spellbinders 'Persian Accents' to which I have added a strip of white sequins, white spot organza ribbon with bow and a sprinkling of peach pearls.

Ingredients...
Flourishes Stamp Sets - 'Cherry Blossoms' and 'Hydrangea'
Spellbinders - 'Persian Accents' and 'Fleur De Lis Rectangles
Distress ink - Spiced Marmalade

Butterflies and Blossoms

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by.
Today I have created a card for the Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Maki is host this week, and she has asked us to make something with a summer theme.
Well, we still haven't had any summer, yet, in the UK. When/if it ever arrives, my favourite things about summer, are to sit in our garden among the flowers and watch the beautiful butterlies and bees.  With those things in mind, I have created a card and bookmark, using stamps from Flourishes - 'Butterflies and Blossoms' set of stamps....

For my card I used Spellbinders Shapeabilites 'Fair Isle Pendants' and Nestabilities 'Fleur De Lis Squares'. Ialso did some layering and cut a coordinating shaped card.  I stamped the flowers and butterfly straight into the Fleur De Lis square and coloured them with Pro Markers. I then stamped again onto another piece of card coloured and did some dimensional work on one flower and the butterfly...
My bookmark was die cut using Spellbinders - 'Fancy Tags Two'.  Once again I did some layering then stamped the sentiment along with another butterfly from the same set of stamps. I fussy cut the butterfly before adding it to the bookmark.

Pompom Flowers!

Hi all! Just a quickie from me today.

I've had a few people ask how to make the pompom flower on my wine bottle tag.  I can't take the credit for coming up with the idea.  There are quite a few tutorials out there, but I'm going to give you a link to the blog where I first saw it...  http://annekrashel.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/scallop-circle-punch-flower-tutorial.html

Hope you're all having a great day! xx

Pretty Little Ribbon Shop - July Challenge

Good Monday morning dear friends.  Wherever you are, I hope today is a good day.
I cannot believe that it's July already...please let there be blue skies! We haven't seen many here in West Yorkshire this summer.
Today is also the start of a new monthly challenge at the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop Blog. The lovely Peet has chosen this months theme, which is 'Tags'. Peet has asked us to create a tag, or use a tag on your card, or any project.
Here are my offerings...
For my tag I used DP's from First Edition - Boho Chic paper pad. My rose was cut with the Sizzix -Tattered Florals die.
For the top of my tag I used some beautiful green 15mm organza ribbon, a green leaf pin and some orange divine bakers twine. All  from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
My sentiment is by Anna Griffin, stamped onto a Spellbinders Labels Twenty-Two die cut.
I box pleated some of the paper and added a coordinating band.

I also have a bottle tag to share...
I cut my tag on Cameo using a medium weight cream card stock.  I then cut a smaller shape and embossed that using Spellbinders M-Bossabilities 'So Trendy' folder.
I cut a Spellbinders frame from some Boho Chic paper, then stamped 'Let's Party' with an Anna Griffin stamp and overlaid that onto the frame.
To complete I made a pompom flower and prettied it up with some glitter glue.  I attached this to a double bow created with some beautiful pearl 15mm sheer elegance ribbon and a pearl decorative pin from the Pretty Little Ribbon Shop.
Please stop by the blog and see the beautiful creations by my team mates. Then, why not join in and create something with a tag? Sarah will have something pretty again for the prize this month.
